一、音素混淆
相似音素误判
在四级听力中，有些音素比较相似，容易导致混淆。例如，/v/和/w/这两个音素，“very”中的/v/和“well”中的/w/如果不仔细区分，可能会将“very”听成“well”或者反之。这种音素混淆会影响对单词的准确识别，进而影响对整个听力内容的理解。
失去爆破与不完全爆破误认
对于英语中的爆破音，如[p] [b] [t] [d] [k] [g]，在失去爆破和不完全爆破的情况下，如果考生没有掌握好相关规则，就容易产生误认。比如，在短语“good boy”中，“d”发生不完全爆破，如果考生不了解这一规则，可能会将其听成“go boy”，从而造成理解错误。
二、语调理解错误
陈述与疑问语调混淆
如前面所述，升调通常用于疑问句，降调用于陈述句。但是有些考生可能会混淆这两种语调，例如将以升调结尾的陈述句误认为是疑问句，或者将以降调结尾的疑问句误认为是陈述句。这样就会导致对说话者意图的错误理解，影响答题的正确性。
语调表意理解偏差
即使考生能够区分升调与降调，但对于不同语调所表达的具体含义可能存在理解偏差。例如，升调除了表示疑问，还可能表示惊讶、怀疑等情绪，考生如果只简单地认为升调就是疑问，就可能无法准确理解听力内容中的丰富含义。
三、连读、弱读等现象造成的错误
连读导致单词误听
由于连读会使单词的发音发生变化，考生可能会因为不熟悉连读规则而误听单词。例如，“put it on”连读成[pu'tɪtɒn]，如果考生不了解这种连读现象，可能会听不出这是“put it on”，而误认为是其他单词组合。
弱读单词的忽略
弱读的单词在听力中往往发音较轻、较短，如果考生没有注意到弱读现象，可能会忽略这些单词，从而影响对句子结构和意义的理解。例如，在句子“I'm in a hurry.”中，“a”弱读，如果忽略了“a”，可能会将句子理解为“I'm in hurry.”，这是不符合语法规则的，也会影响对句子意义的准确把握。
